inspired to change
My client’s design dilemma was what to do with this large, blank, blue dining room. They were just moving in and the existing blue just wasn’t a favorite color.
The oriental rug was the centerpiece, so I began there. I selected a great red from Sherwin-Williams (SW 6333) called Foxy. I picked up on the coral-red from the rug knowing what a fabulous color red is for dining rooms: it stimulates the appetite! This particular shade is a great blend of red with some orange, almost a persimmon-like color.
The furniture was a bit contemporary and it was easy to select natural woven shades for the window treatments as the room needed more texture.
The ginger jars provide interest here on the table.
Later on, the client was inspired to change to a linen drum shade for the chandelier, the perfect touch to finish the room.
