Lexus South Atlanta
The past few months I have been working on a remodel for Lexus South Atlanta for their new Pre Owned Vehicle building.
Working along side architect Randy Pimsler (PSA Architects) we converted an old space into a sleek charismatic showroom.
After previewing the existing space, I researched “the Lexus standards, and got permission to deviate a bit from their national design standards. I submitted a design concept along with a design board which was less “traditional” and a bit more “transitional”.
My goal was to incorporate a streamlined design that was in keeping with the Lexus brand. I wanted to give them a sophisticated yet hip new showroom.
Using fresh new surfacing materials along with a contrasting color palette we created a new look. We added a tray ceiling that accentuated the height of the room and painted the lip of the tray a steel blue/gray. We designed a circular sleek reception desk in zebra wood; this created radial balance, anchored the space and created better traffic flow. In keeping with the sleek mid century modern design, I created a large block wall made of recessed zebra wood panels. This created a focal wall and was the perfect spot to display Lexus signage.
Deviating from the Lexus standard color palette I went with more contrasting hues of deep steel blue/gray and warm yellows and gold. (See the design board below).
In the coffee bar I selected a backsplash of a glass pearlescent tile (reminiscent of oyster shells) which encased the entire wall. This mosaic wall was reflective and added depth and texture.
We added contemporary floating sinks in the restrooms in rich cherry wood with a glass mosaic backsplash.
For finishing touches sleek new furniture was purchased and contemporary art was hung.
Adorning accessories were placed to complete the project.
